Fensurge

My submission for Smogon's 19th Create-A-Pokemon Project, an Electric/Poison Pokemon meant to take care of Mega Gyarados's checks and therefore allow Mega Gyarados an opening for to set up. The design was conjured early on before Storm Drain was decided on as an ability, so the design ultimately ended up unfitting for the concept.

In terms of design, Fensurge is based off of a fencer, with retractable spikes in lieu of a foil, electric markings mimicking the wires on a fencer's clothes, and a dark face like the fencer's mask. I think the design was at least inspired by the Ralts line, so I am a little dissatisfied with how similar it came out. That's not to mention one of the potential names I had for the design--Vengarde, from 'venin' and 'en garde'. It meshes well and fits the design, but there were other Pokemon that used the same syllables, so it felt repetitive. Fensurge is a name that works well and comes off as moderately original in comparison.

The concept of Pokemon belongs to Game Freak. I gain nothing from using its concept in art.
