Kitsunohby ~Quanyails

I got bored yesterday and doodled with poses, and I tried one that was more frontwards than what I usually do. I'm not sure if it came out well.

Anywhoo, this is a Kitsunoh, for those who don't know, one of Smogon's CAPs. I personally like it for its design and concept, metagame-wise.

Kitsunoh is one of Smogon's creations, which I do not take the concept for my own. What I do take is this piece of pixel art.

I think it looks rather Impish, though that would be an unusual nature seen on Kitsunoh on teams.

Is this design very old? Because I have unkwowingly done something pretty similar: [link] [link] [link] The first version of my sprite was published the spring of 2011. Could you give me a link or something to the original design of this, so I can check if I did mine before or after?

I think the pose is fine ^^ The shape of the legs is not completely realistic (looking at a real animal as reference would help in that regard), but the position and shading of the head, body and tail are very interesting.

Kitsunoh's original design stemmed from here: [link], but it was finalized a few days later here: [link]. It's a good two years older. XD

As for the legs: I try to do unusual stuff with that and perspective, so they do come out odd, despite my best attempts. Practice!

Legs are also my weakest point when spriting bipeds

But you're right, the more times you do it, the better it comes out. It's just a matter of patience.
